Hiroki Ishiyama

Hiroki is Yumi's younger brother and a sixth grader at Kadic. His best friend is named Johnny, who has a major crush on Yumi. Although Yumi is usualy anoyed by Hiroki, she still loves him, as shown on numerous occasions. In the episode "Lost at Sea", Hiroki steals Yumi's diary and Ulrich finds it. To help Hiroki apologize to his sister, Ulrich secretly returns the diary, but Yumi thinks it was Hiroki and forgives him. Hiroki also has a huge crush on Milly.

Milly Solovieff

Milly in season's 1-3
Waterbender11
Milly And Tamiya Reporting
Waterbender11
Milly is a member of the Kadic News Crew, and is the news anchor. She is quite intelligent for a little girl of ten to eleven years, and is a member of the fifth to sixth grade. Milly is the friend of Tamiya, who is the camera girl. She has a crush on Ulrich, like many other girls atKadic, while Yumi's brotherHiroki has a crush on her. She is very sensitive, and often goes around with Tamiya recording news. She sometimes picks up gossip and tells it to the whole school via the news report. XANA used her teddy bear to try to destroy the school and parts of the city in Teddygozilla, and she was a secondary target of XANA's schemes in Claustrophobia. She has claustrophobia, likeHerb. As shown in the very first episode, Milly cannot maturely control her emotions, and can often be seen acting in a very immature, regressed manner when she is bullied and picked on (e.g. whining and crying), but by the fourth season she has somewhat matured.

Tamiya Diop

Tamiya In Season's 1-3
M.Stromboli
Tamiya is Milly's best friend. She seems to be slightly less driven by her emotions, which allows her to think more clearly than her red-headed friend when bad things happen to them. She's also always there to give a kind word when it's needed. She the cameragirl for the Kadic News Crew.

Tamiya is a member of the seventh grade, is eleven years old, and, like most girls her age at the school, has a crush on Ulrich. She shares a dorm with Milly, and is very sensitive like her as well. She is not very good at reporting news, which Milly often scolds her for, but she is usually more strong-willed then her best friend. An example of this is in Cold Sweat when Tamiya hinted to Yumi the person who gave her Yumi's secret photo to use in the Kadic newspaper. Tamiya also has a knack for understanding the latest fashion and talks to her mom about it a lot. She also has a dislike for Sissi and her gang, who view Tamiya and Milly as "little twerps with no lives". Jim, too, even dislikes her because he grounded both her and Milly to their room in

Herb Pichon

Herb Pichon is an eighth grader at Kadic. He is the second-in-command of Sissi's Gang, and sometimes even the boss in times of emergency when Sissi proves to incompetent, as he is obviously the most intelligent in their group. Herb is also in love with Sissi, although he can't tell her because she has crushes on various people including Ulrich, Theo, and possibly Odd. Due to this and many other factors in his life, such as unpopularity (it is even shown Jim doesn't like him) and being constantly outwitted by his academic rival, Jeremie, Herb is a very sour person, competetive and sometimes violent, therefore extremely easy to anger. Herb also has claustrophobia, as seen in Claustrophobia. He is best friends with Nicholas, despite his lack of intelligence. He has a strong dislike for Tamiya for unknown reasons.
Herb can often be seen patiently waiting for Sissi to consult him on something, although she usually doesn't. He spends most of his spare time trying to think of ways to impress Sissi, which usually fail, but his determination rarely falters, which will probably lead either to his complete success, or his downfall. Ironically, it is also hinted at that he has a slight crush on Yumi, who could be considered Sissi's greatest enemy. This is somewhat evident in The Robots, where she is able to persuade him to assist the Lyoko Warriors. Mrs. Hertz seems to think of him as one of her best students, along with Jeremie. Herb also seems to have more knowledge of slang words then Jeremie.
In Replika, Herb and Nicholas follow Odd and Aelita to the factory in order to discover their secret. When Herb tries to climb down the rope, he is very scared and says that he is crazy about Sissi, and later tells Nicholas not to tell Sissi about what he said. Herb and Nicholas don't discover the secret, but instead, Odd and Aelita make a fake kiss just to get them away from the factory.
Herb's face is covered in pimples, and he often complains about it. But on some occasions, his face is drawn without the acne. He is also very easy to scare, as seen with Sissi, Jim, and Nicholas as well.
In The Robots, he built a hummingbird robot to help Team Lyoko take down a robot XANA had created. Unfortunately, he seemed to have lost his memory after a time reversion occured. He also designed the Iron Sissi for the Annual Robot Competition, a tribute to Sissi. He lost because he broke the contest rules by concealing a weapon inside the robot.
Herb's romantic afflitiation has also been questioned, at least amonst fanfiction writers. While Herb usually romantically pursues Sissi, he has also been shown to have feelings for Aelita. The collect spelling of Herb's name is also a controversy. The French spelling of the name is Hervé, but the English spelling is usually accepted as Herb (Herb's section on Wikipedia is an exception). The policy on this site is, however, to use the English version.
In Lyoko Minus One, he ran for Class Representative on Sissi's request against Jeremie and Odd. It is strongly suggested in the episode he actually does not want to run for the post, as his ideas are mostly stupid, such as putting pretty flowers in each classroom. He failed horribly, as Odd won the position.
It is possible Herb is related to L. Pichon, a jockey who won the 1928 Queen's Plate horse race.
Herb is voiced by David Gasman.

Jean Pierre Delmas

Jean-Pierre Delmas is the principal of Kadic Junior High. He is also Sissi 's father.

Anthea Schaeffer

Antea and Aelita Schaeffer.gif
M.Stromboli
Very little information is known about Anthea (not Antea; in 'Wrong Exposure', Aelita said that was a wrong prounounciation) Sheaeffer. In the events during ' The Key ', she is a pink-haired woman, which explains where Aelita's pink hair came from. After being kidnapped (as shown in 'Distant Memory') by men in black on their vacation to the ski lodge, Aelita and Franz Hopper move to The Hermitage and later virtualize themselves to Lyoko. Her maiden name was Anthea Hopper. When Waldo Schaeffer (AKA Franz Hopper) changed his name, he took her maiden name.
The Project Carthage folder also includes a photo of her skiing pregnant. This gives an idea of Carthage Project length.
Anthea was believed to be kidnapped by the Men In Black before Franz Hopper created Xana (we can deduce this by Xana's lack of ability to create a polymorphic clone of her for the simulation bubble in ' Distant Memory ').
Rumors have persisted that she will show up again in the rumored Season 5.

Franz Hopper / Waldo Schaeffer

This article is about the person. For the episode, see Franz Hopper (episode).
Franz Hopper.
King Sweaterhead
Franz Hopper was the creator of Lyoko, XANA, and the father of Aelita. He created Lyoko and XANA to be the staging grounds and means of the destruction of Project Carthage, a secret government program he created to intercept enemy communications. By the time he was nearing the end of his completion of Lyoko, he became very paranoid and insane to some degree. He repeated the same day over 2000 times using the Time Reversion feature of the supercomputer to accomplish his goals. At the last moments, he and Aelita fled to Lyoko, only to be attacked by XANA and his monsters. Franz was captured and taken to an unknown location within Lyoko. He escaped, however, and sacrificed himself for his daughter in The Key. Team Lyoko continued to search for him after that. Aelita found a fragment of Franz's DNA in Carthage, so she still hoped. In Final Round, Jeremie and Aelita finally managed to track him down in Lyoko's code, but Lyoko was destroyed by XANA before he could be materialized. However, it seems that he escaped to the Internet because he sent a coded message to Team Lyoko from there after Lyoko was destroyed.
He loved playing the piano, as seen in the various visions and the memory sequence that Aelita has. He also had a wife, who mysteriously disappeared.
In Wrong Exposure, it is revealed that Franz's real name is Waldo Schaeffer, Hopper is the last name of Aelita's mother, and that Franz is his middle name. The reason for his name being changed is because that when he and Aelita moved to Hermitage, Franz wanted Aelita and himself to have a fresh start. He ultimately sacrificed himself to destroy X.A.N.A by covering Aelita from the Manta's blast while she finish the multi-agent program. For more information, see Wrong Exposure and/or Waldo Schaeffer.

HerbxSissi

HerbxSissi is one of the hinted-at romances in Code: LYOKO. It is mostly fantacized by Herb himself, who is extremely obsessive over Sissi, but on some occasions it is shown Sissi may have feelings for him as well, despite the fact she finds him disgusting (in most situations). The primary relationship that opposes it currently is Odd's confused feelings for Sissi, and, unlike other love triangles, both males seem equally matched.
The first time the romance was hinted at was in Teddygozilla. After escorting Sissi to her dorm, Sissi shoos Herb and Nicholas away. Herb then, smiling, says "Sissi, we thought -" only to be cut short by Sissi, who tells them not to think. Of course, we have no idea what Herb was going to say, but it is possible he was about to ask Sissi to the dance. It is actually never revealed if Sissi or Herb get dates that night, but both seem happy at the dance, so it might be that they went with each other. Sissi confirms this when she indicates Herb and says to Ulrich, who had just arrived without Yumi, "Next time, call me."
Two episodes later, we see Sissi and Herb chatting on the phone about Jeremie and his gang in Holiday in the Fog. It seems Herb is concerned about Sissi's well-being, as he suggests she go to sleep instead of spying on Jeremie all night. She does, but in the process is nearly killed by XANA. Of course, Herb did not know this would happen.
An episode later, in Log Book, Sissi blackmails Ulrich and makes him be her girlfriend, and starts sitting with him during class. Odd notes this, then notes Herb's really annoyed expression a few desks behind. When Yumi finds Sissi's diary and forces her to stop annoying Ulrich, and he moves away from her on the bus they are using to get to the pool. As soon as he does this, Herb sits down next to Sissi, and starts commenting on how Ulrich was annoying her, et cetera. After Sissi looks out the window in sadness, we can see a look of concern cross Herb's face, clearly indicating that he wants her to be happy.
In Big Bug, Ulrich and Odd play a joke on Herb and Sissi by sending them both text messages. The text message sent to Herb seems to be from Sissi, and tells him she loves him and wants them to meet at the Garden Shed. Sissi gets a similar message, saying she should go to the Garden Shed, but Odd does not sign it with Herb's name, but Sissi thinks its Ulrich who wants to share a few private moments with her. She is wronged, however, and, upon opening the Garden Shed's door, Herb jumps out and falls right on top of her, and says he loves her too. She threatens to tell her father, who, naturally, can do nothing about it.
When a clone of Yumi came to Kadic in Image Problem, it convinced Ulrich to go out with Sissi. Herb then comes over to Ulrich later in the day and threatens to send Nicholas to clobber him. Jeremie gives Herb the sage advice to taking it up with Sissi insted of Ulrich.
Later, in Claustrophobia, Theo comes to Kadic and starts romancing Sissi. This really, really annoys Herb, who becomes very sour towards Theo. Herb even daydreams about him and Sissi kissing, and is interrupted by Theo. Herb even tries to get Theo kicked out of school. Lucky for him, a time reversion at the end of the episode erases all three of their memories, and at the end, Theo starts romancing Yumi.
In the second season, however, Herb starts developing feelings towards Aelita (provoking Jeremie's jealousy), which, much to his surprise, Sissi doesn't like. It is made clear, however, that Herb still loves Sissi, as in the episode Cold War, he suggests they kiss, for they are freezing to death.

UlrichxAelita

UlrichxAelita is the shipping between Ulrich and Aelita. It hardly ever is hinted at, and is competely non-canonical, and purely used by fanfiction writers to make some sort of plot device.

JeremiexYumi

Polymorphic clone of Yumi attempts to seduce Jeremie.
M.Stromboli
Jeremie and Yumi have a very close relationship in the Code Lyoko canon. With Jeremie accepted as the genius of the group, and Yumi the "responsible one," there are fans who favor a romantic relationship between them.
Yumi chats with Jeremie.
M.Stromboli

As far as the canon goes, Yumi and Jeremie's relationship rarely surpasses that of platonic friends, not unlike siblings. They often confide their personal problems in each other, particularly those involving their other friends. The only instances of a romantic advance between them occur in the episode Image Problem. XANA tries using a polymorphic clone of Yumi to seduce Jeremie so that he will go with her to the factory. In the end of the episode, Yumi teases Jeremie by flirting with him in the same fashion, but is quickly stopped by Ulrich.

OddxAelita

A moment where Aelita is going to kiss Odd.
Hi 2 u
Odd and Aelita's kiss.
Hi 2 u
OddxAelita is a shipping that supports the romance of Odd and Aelita. It is somewhat supported by the show, mostly because in Season 1, Odd makes various comments to Aelita in Lyoko that could be interpreted as sexually suggestive such as "Nice place; but it could use a little more heat." Aelita , naturally, doesn't interpret them that way, and Jeremie apparently doesn't hear (although it sounds like a translation mistake). In Lyoko , Odd has actually fallen on top of Aelita many times, but usually in an attempt to save her from monsters or by accident. Odd's nickname for Aelita , " Princess ", is widely thought by fans of this pairing to be a hint at Odd's innate feelings for Aelita . However, many fans have taken this nickname literally and consider it to be her official title as the Absolute Ruler of Lyoko. "Princess" is a nickname Aelita is given by all of her friends, but Odd's the one who calls her that the most.
Aelita once kissed Odd in " Replika ", but only to make it appear that they were dating to put Nicholas and Herb's suspicions to rest. When Aelita was materialized, they made up a lie that she was Odd's cousin. Everyone on campus henceforth thought Odd and Aelita were cousins. Therefore, Sissi refused to believe Nicholas and Herb , causing them to believe everyone would laugh at their faces if they brought it up again.

OddxSamantha

Despite being described as a 'ladies man,' there is an eminent attraction Odd beholds towards Samantha. Odd is constantly shown blushing as he and Samantha hang out, and Samantha's actions show that the feeling is mutual. When Ulrich asked Samantha to deliver a message to Odd regarding Xana, Samantha refused to tell Odd for fear that she would not be able to spend time with him. Odd found out, and when he asked Samantha why she didn't tell him about Ulrich's message, she replied that she wanted to spend time with him. This ultimatley lead to the end of their relationship, though they remained on good terms thereafter.

OddxSissi

OddxSissi is a shipping that supports the romance between Odd and Sissi. It is hinted at in Log Book, Just in Time, and several other episodes, but it is most evident in Deja Vu, where they both, unknowingly, date each other over the Internet and Odd flirts with Sissi in Mrs. Hertz's class. In The Key and many other episodes after Deja Vu, Odd starts to tease Sissi a lot less than he did in the first season. This is an indication of a possible romance between the two as well. Herb might be a contender for Sissi's heart, however; he also has feelings for her, and will take far more violent methods, than Odd if needed, to claim her affection.
Evidence of Sissi having love for Odd can also be found in the first season as well. For instance, in Just in Time, Sissi cried when she knew that Odd was stuck inside the school trying to get out. Time reversion erased her memories, however.
Odd often lets Sissi be in his various movies or music videos, such as Natural Grandeur and Break Break Break Dance. The reason as to why is unclear. Also, Odd's inflated ego got the better of him and he hatefully refuses to go with Sissi to the dance in The Key, using the same rejection that he had gotten from all the other girls on her, mocking her attitude (he mocks Sissi by saying in a high voice like hers "No, and I promised to take him [Ulrich] to the dance"). Also, contradictory behavior by both children before and after the events of Deja Vu also lend credit to perhaps a friendly rivalry.
In Bad Connection, Odd screened a new film that depicted the school as a "jungle" with many hilarious "creatures"; i.e. Mr. Delmas dropping a shotput on his foot. The last scene of the film is Sissi in bed waking up. Sissi believes that he is going to make fun of her again (as she states that he does in all his other films). However, after his experience with her before the time reversion, he states that the blankets are a cocoon and once Sissi had fully emerged that she was a "beautiful butterfly", finishing with a small but genuine smile towards a startled Sissi. He also winks at her. This may indicate that he's starting to have feelings for her. At the closing of Echoes, Odd stated sweetly to Sissi "school would be so boring without you".

JeremiexAelita

Jeremie with Aelita at the supercomputer.
M.Stromboli
JeremiexAelita is a somewhat peculiar ship, given the fact that for a substantial portion of the series it was believed that Aelita was a computer program. From the start Jeremie was intrigued and infatuated with the pixie-like Princess of Lyoko. While working on her materialization program,
Jeremie and Aelita's kiss.
Jeremie and Aelita would spend long hours talking with each other. Their initial infatuation continued to grow after her materialization to Earth. Given Jeremie's extreme shyness and general social awkwardness, Aelita often takes the leading and dominant role in their relationship after her materialization.

Also, it is theorized that when Jeremie updated the gang's clothes, he made the see-thru skirt for Aelita just because he wanted too.

UlrichxYumi

Ulrich and Yumi almost kiss in the Desert.
King Sweaterhead
UlrichxYumi is probably the most wide-spread ship in the Code: LYOKO community. There are many instances in the series showing a likely attraction between Ulrich and Yumi. For much of the series, Yumi and Ulrich insist that they are "only good friends." However, some episodes revolve heavily around the Ulrich/Yumi ship, and one particular scene in Garage Kids heavily hints at it in a more sexual way. Ulrich rarely has the courage to tell Yumi how he feels about her, but in A Bad Turn Ulrich is encouraged to confess to Yumi by the rest of the team. When he gets to her house he finds William all over her and gets angry and leaves. It is also known in the episode Routine, that Yumi was jealous of Ulrich dating Emily and almost ended up kissing him before the reversal of time had sent everyone in the past.

Characters

Nicholas Poliakoff

Nicholas Poliakoff is a jerk. He is a eighth grader at Kadic. He is a member of Sissi's Gang, and mostly just stands there staring into space. He is the stereotypical dumb muscle kind of bully, and has an extremely strange sense of humor. Nicholas is Herb's best friend, and therefore usually agrees with him in arguments and follows his lead. It is still unknown why exactly Nicholas joined Sissi's Gang, but probably due to the fact Herb did. Nicholas also has a crush on Aelita, but is too stupid to do anything about it. However, it is possible that Nicholas also has feelings for Sissi, perhaps the motivation to join Sissi's Gang. He can play the drums, and is in the Pop Rock Progressives, a band started by Odd. As a result, he is certainly more tolerant and kinder toward Team Lyoko than Herb and Sissi are.
Nicholas's new appearance
King Sweaterhead
In Attack of the Zombies, it is revealed that Nicholas watches too many horror movies, and therefore has a good picture of zombie motives and weaknesses. Ironically, he even became a zombie himself. In some episodes, it is shown he has at least some degree of intelligence, as he wrote the play in Laughing Fit. Nicholas is also easy to scare, as with Herb.
it is also shown in Replika that Nicholas likes to go fishing and is apparently more "patent" than Herb. He says that it is breath taking and exciting to catch a fish, Herb is not interested in fishing, though he stays with Nicholas through the short fishing trip.
Nick is voiced by Matthew Geczy.

Sissy/ Elisabeth

Sissi shoots her trademark glare at one of her opponents.
King Sweaterhead
Sissi's new Season 4 Appearance
King Sweaterhead
Elisabeth "Sissi" Delmas is a mean, prissy, spoiled and popular student at Kadic. She often pesters Team Lyoko, most of the time to win Ulrich's affections. However, it seems that her mean actions toward Team Lyoko is an attempt to gain attention and respect from them, as she admits in Holiday in the Fog, much to her tearfulness. She is very obnoxious, annoying, and much of a control freak and a spoiled brat, but nevertheless manages to always have two cronies by her side. She is also the daughter of Mr. Delmas, the principal of Kadic, the boarding school she attends and lives in. She even has her own room there.

Description

Not much is known about Sissi's family life except that her mother is supposedly dead (this is evidenced in Contact). She is approximetely 13 (or 14) years of age, and is currently in the eighth grade .
Sissi's voice is very high and childish, as well as bratty. She often whines and yells for people.
She is quite mean to the Lyoko Warriors, particularly Yumi (for also loving Ulrich) Her two "friends" are Herb and Nicholas. Herve actually is in love with Sissi, he even modeled his robot (Iron Sissi) after her but she doesn't seem to notice.

Sissi's part in the discovery of Lyoko

When Xana sent out his first attack, Jeremy knew he had to send someone to Lyoko to deactivate the tower, so he asked Ulrich to help him find a guinea pig. Ulrich decided to use Kiwi, Odd's dog. Earlier that day, Sissi
Sissi in her season 4 outfit
Saraitsu
asked Ulrich to go to her dorm so they could hang out that night, but when Ulrich never showed up, she went out looking for him. She and Odd found him taking Kiwi to the factory. They followed him and discovered the lab where Jeremy was studying Lyoko. Odd accidently became virtualized into Lyoko when he tried to get Kiwi out of the scanner. After he was virtualized, Jeremy told Ulrich that Odd was in trouble since monsters were coming after him. Ulrich suggested that Jeremy send Sissi and himself to Lyoko to help Odd. Ulrich then explained to Sissi that Lyoko is a virtual world where monsters try to kill you. Sissi became scared and nervously refused, saying that she liked the real world, and that she couldn't miss cheerleading practice the next day. Sissi saw him off to Lyoko, then went upstairs to where Jeremy was. Xana started attacking Jeremy with cords, and Sissi started screaming and crying. Finally, Odd and Ulrich came to help. They destroyed the cords, and Xana retreated. The next day, Sissi was seen hanging out with Ulrich at breakfast, when Odd came up to them and started talking about Lyoko before asking where Jeremy was. Later, Sissi, Ulrich, and Odd were all seen hanging out in the courtyard when Jeremy approached them and told them that after they devirtualize Aelita (Mya) he would shut down the super computer. He needed them to go to Lyoko one last time to see if they could help her materialize. Ulrich pointed out that only two of them would be too little of a group to defend against the monsters, and that they would be stronger if Sissi would come with them. Sissi told them that she would love to go to Lyoko, but she was going to wait until after cheerleading practice to go. Jeremy thanked her for her support, then told the group that after Aelita (Mya) is materialized, they would shut down Lyoko. Jeremy then made everyone promise to not say anything about Lyoko to anyone. They all promised to keep their mouths shut, then Sissi said she couldn't wait to see what she looked like on Lyoko.
After cheerleading practice, Sissi went into her room, only to be attacked by Xana by being electricuted. Odd and Jeremy heard about this and rushed to the factory. Sissi woke up in a hospital, where her father and Jim were, and told them that they had to hurry and save Ulrich, Odd, and Jeremy because they were in danger. She told them all about Lyoko, then made them come to the factory to see for themselves. When they arrived at the factory, Ulrich yelled at Sissi for breaking her promise, and she was kicked out of the group. Jeremy then launched a return to the past, and Sissi forgot all about Lyoko since she was never virtualized, and Yumi took her place in the group.
This shows that Sissi was the original female member of the Lyoko Warriors, and was going to help them fight on Lyoko, but was replaced by Yumi before she could, since she ratted out on the Warriors to Jim and her father Mr. Delmas.

XANA emerging from William in "Fight to the Finish"
XANA, the primary adversary of Team Lyoko, is an evil computer program/virus who plots to destroy mankind.

Creation

XANA, as well as Lyoko, were originally created by Franz Hopper to destroy Project Carthage, a computer program designed to monitor enemy of the state communications for the French government . But XANA developed independence because of all time reversions by Franz, and began to spend its time creating other monsters to materialize into the real world to secure its rule of Earth (but only did so twice, with Kankrelats in "False Start" and Krabes in "A Bad Turn," both of which occurred after Aelita came back to Earth, and both of which were used for the destruction of Team Lyoko, rather than world domination.). When Franz Hopper and his daughter, Aelita, came to Lyoko to hide from the French Secret Service, XANA took the chance. It imprisoned Hopper and started attacking Aelita with Kankrelats. Franz Hopper, seeing the danger XANA presents, decides to shut down the Supercomputer (though how he did so is still unknown as he was virtualized without so much as an Avatar at the time), with his last words urging Aelita, safe in the Way Tower, not to forget him. However, XANA somehow managed to get to Aelita before the Supercomputer was turned off, and stole Aelita's memories of the real world (or they were lost due to her being in a virtual sleep for nine years), some of them remaining lost even after its destruction.

Conflict with Team Lyoko

After approximately a decade later, Jeremie Belpois stumbled upon the supercomputer and re-started it. Soon after that, XANA launched his first attack. Through a series of coincidences, Jeremie virtualized three of his new friends, Yumi Ishiyama, Ulrich Stern, and Odd Della Robbia into Lyoko to help Aelita deactivate the activated Tower. After discovering XANA, Team Lyoko was officially formed to combat its attacks until Jeremie managed to materialize Aelita. XANA reacted by sending various attacks, described below, to Earth, and hordes of virtual monsters to attack Team Lyoko and prevent Aelita from halting its attack. But the team always seemed to defeat XANA and use a time reversion to make everything the way it was before the attack.
At first, XANA's attacks were based mainly on things linked to the Internet or electrical appliances, such as putting paralyzing songs on the Internet for students to download or changing train times so the trains would collide and spill poisonous chemicals everywhere. But soon it began possessing inanimate and low-intelligence objects/bioforms, like teddy bears and bees.
But as Team Lyoko caused more and more Time Reversions, XANA grew stronger, both physically and mentally. It could soon possess people and huge electrical systems. It was undoubtedly growing more powerful. When Jeremie successfully materialized Aelita, XANA changed its tactics. It now either targeted Aelita or Jeremie, as either one was crucial to disabling it's attacks. By the second season, XANA virtually only possessed people. In Season 2, XANA would deploy a monster called the Scyphozoa to take her keys to Lyoko. In The Key, XANA succeeded and escaped the Supercomputer. As of the end of Season 2, XANA can strike anywhere on Earth, however in Season 3, XANA continues to focus his main attacks on Team Lyoko and even though it broke it's link with the supercomputer, XANA still needs to activate a Tower on Lyoko in order to unleash an attack.

Personality

XANA, being a program, has not developed much of a personality, and doesn't really have one because it is really just a computer. Nevertheless, it often seems that XANA has specific attributes. For one, it is incredibly intelligent, possibly to an abnormal extreme, and knows almost everything scientific about Earth. XANA is also very cunning and sneaky, often hiding its schemes until the last moment, unlike many other fictional villians, who rant on about their grand designs. XANA also has a moderate understanding of human emotions, though only until a certain level; it cannot grasp complex emotions like love and compassion, but can easily understand ones such as anger and envy. It seems to have a particular "hatred" of Jeremie as well.
The only thing it values above Team Lyoko's destruction is its own survival, as seen in Marabounta, when it teamed up with Team Lyoko to eliminate the Marabounta, an immediate threat. It also refuses to attack the Factory in seasons 1 and 2, for obvious reasons. It did deactivate the Scanners in a failed attempt to kill them. It also has a need to get out of the Supercomputer. In Saint Valentine's Day, XANA released Aelita, his key to escaping, from its control when Odd started firing at her. Other times, XANA's monsters would hold their fire, refusing to shoot at Aelita.

Appearance

As stated above, XANA is a program, and does not actually have a physical manifestation like humans do. Even its monsters are just its servants that it created, not XANA itself. The only real thing one could count as being XANA is the Eye of XANA, and that is just really a symbol. In fact, since that same symbol is seen on the platforms of the Towers, on the Supercomputer, on the Transport Orb, and on the Core of Lyoko in Carthage, the Eye of XANA is more likely to be the symbol of all of Lyoko, not XANA alone. Some fans believe that XANA is actually a spectre, but it has been proven spectres are not actually XANA, just extensions of his will. In Season 2, XANA possessed people, but once again, even that was just XANA inside a person's body, and not XANA himself. Using polymorphic clones is another way, too. The only real physical incarnation of XANA is seen in 'Fight to the Finish'. Just as XANA is being destroyed, its ghost is forced out of William and right before it disappears a feminine face is seen.

Behind the Scenes

XANA is voiced by David Gasman in the American version of Code: LYOKO, whom also voices Herb, Jim, and William.
In the original pilot Garage Kids, Lyoko was called Xanadu, and XANA is an obvious spawn from that name. It is still unknown what XANA stands for, and most fanfiction doesn't even come close to explaining.

Occupation None
Residence Kadic

Jeremie Belpois is a member of Team Lyoko, its official leader, and the brainiac always present. Jeremie has only gone to Lyoko (or attempted to) a few times because he is afraid of the scanners, despite the fact he operates them. However, he can overcome his fear if his friends are in danger. He is Aelita's love interest. His father is named Michael Belpois and it is revealed that he also has a cousin named Patrick.

Description

. On Earth, Jeremie wears a blue turtleneck and brown pants and blue-gray shoes. In season 4 his outfit has changed slightly to a maroon turtlenekk, brown pants with blue stripes on the sides, and dark blue shoes with white platforms. He also has glasses, because he is nearsighted. Because he rarely goes to Lyoko, his powers, weapons, and costume are unknown. Some fans have designed virtual forms for him. His pajamas are dark blue.

Jeremie in Season 4

Jeremie's role in the group is to operate the supercomputer and coordinate defense. Whenever XANA attacks, he locates the activated Tower and sends the others to Lyoko. Jeremie has enough authority within the group to order people to Lyoko, as he does to Ulrich, Odd and Yumi in Routine, and to suspend people from it, as he does to Ulrich in The Chips Are Down for operating the time reversion feature of the Supercomputer without his say-so. This is, however, mostly because he is the only one who can operate the Scanners, besides Aelita, who would normally agree with Jeremie anyway. Jeremie was the first one to discover Lyoko and the first person ever to speak to Aelita; having discovered the deactivated Supercomputer in an abandoned factory. After discovering Aelita's predicament of being stuck in Lyoko, he tried to create a materialization program for her, and eventually fell in love with her, talking to her on his laptop in most of his spare time about his Earth life and about hers. He eventually materialized her in the episode Code: Earth.

Jeremie's Lyoko status is only seen in the episode Frontier, and gives no hint to his actual virtualized form.

Odd in Lyoko.
King Sweaterhead
Odd Della Robia is a member of Team Lyoko and possibly the most popular among fans for being kindhearted, careless and funny. He calls himself a ladies' man, but the females he's dated would say the opposite. He is Ulrich's best friend. He likes the color purple, and wears it on most of his clothes. He is one of the Lyoko Warriors and one of Aelita's closest friends, and possibly more than that because he kisses her in the episode "Replika", Season 4 (though this may be just part of his flirty personality). XANA is his sworn enemy along with the other Lyoko Warriors. He also doesn't like Sissi's spoiled and childish behavior either. Odd is very flirty but sometimes proves to be a loyal boyfriend. In season 1 Odd falls on love with a girl named Samantha and in season four Odd falls in love with Sissy's pen pal Bryana.
One thing is that he wears a purple outfit both in Lyoko and at Kadic, usually with yellow accompaniments to match his hair, which has a purple streak in the middle, and some pink in it as well (perhaps a hint at his effeminacy). That is indeed one thing. His night clothes are red and yellow, not purple, and probably due to the fact he did not buy them. (A red t-shirt and orange shorts.) It is revealed in season 4 that he wears black boxer shorts for underwear.
He claims in various episodes, such as in Swarming Attack and The Key, that he knows how the female mind works, that he has a "way" with females, etc. Naturally, he is horribly wrong, as most of the girls slap him hard in the face most of the time.
Odd's Lyoko outfit looks like a feline, complete with a tail and claws (which he can use to climb). Strangely enough, Odd's shirt has a picture of a dog (probably Kiwi) peeing. His weapons are Lazer Arrows, rather dandy laser bolts which go in a straight line and inflict damage upon impact. His forehead has purple markings on it while his cheeks have pink markings. (Some call it war paint)
Odd's family is seemingly Italian[His name, Della, meaning Of in Italian, and Robbia, Meaning Madder, also in Italian], and his parents are artists, maybe causing their son's strange sense of fashion. He knows, or at least claims to know, Pencak Silat, as he can be seen sparring with Ulrich on many occasions. In Attack of the Zombies, he even kicked a zombie version of Jim in the chest just after commanding the others to get inside the Cafeteria.
Odd is Ulrich's best friend, and shares a dorm with him at Kadic. He is a member of the Nineth Grade , but does not do well due to the fact he spends most of the time in class drawing pictures of Kiwi when he should be taking notes. His pictures are very detailed, however, and he puts a lot of work into them. He draws an excellent picture of Team Lyoko from memory in "Franz Hopper". He enjoys folding his tests into paper cranes, which Jim then collects. He knows various fighting techniques like boxing (how he learned them is not made clear. He performed this in episode "Franz Hopper"), and has the knowledge of the stereotypical prankster, as demonstrated in Satellite when he pick locks a cabinet to get his cell phone back. He is also good at performing music, as he formed a rock group called Pop Rock Progressives in Seeing is Believing and played the guitar for a play in Laughing Fit. He also does not like biology, as he states in Ghost Channel.
Odds new real world outfit
King Sweaterhead
He is shown to be able to eat large quantities of food, even eating food off the trays of his friends. Ulrich has even commented that he has more than one stomach. Despite his rather large appetite, he maintains his "svelte" body through his metabolism. Because of his high metabolism and sky-high energy levels, many people call him "scrawny"; In the episode,"Tip-Top Shape, he says, "I'm not scrawny, I'm svelte!". Although Odd has been able to get dates with many girls, the relationships usually end as sour as a lemon. By the end of his 8th grade year, his bad reputation had finally circulated and he is now unable to get a date with anyone. He is very fluent in Italian, but he is also capable of speaking Japanese and Chinese, as demonstrated in A Fine Mess when he is in Yumi's body.
In Double Take Odd's new outfit is briefly shown when he saves Yumi, he keeps his paws and tail and purple color but his new outfit includes a set of cat ears and chrome-like additions to the design.
In Maiden Voyage his real world outfit is also changed, he now wheres a purple hoodie with a pink undershirt and purple jeans.

Voice actor info

Odd is voiced by two male voice actors in the series. In the first and fourth episodes, Christophe Caballero provided Odd's voice (giving his voice a rather distinctive Spanish accent; 1,4). Matthew Geczy provides his voice in episodes 2-3,4-97.

Lyoko form

  • ID Card:Odd's card shows a paw print.
  • Health: 100 Life Points
Weapons:
  • Lazer Arrow - Spearheads Odd can fire at enemies. Normally shoot straight but can be curved. They do 10 points of damage when they don't hit the Eye of XANA. Odd sometimes calls them "Laser Flash" ('Holiday in the Fog') and even said "Impact" in one episode ('Teddygozilla').
  • Shield - Odd can activate a shield from his gloves that serves as a defense mechanism for him and the rest of Team Lyoko.
Lyoko Powers:
  • Future Flash - Odd can see a short distance into the future. He has no control over this power and it rarely activates. Odd loses this power in the Second Season and onward because Jeremie decides that it's useless, despite the fact that it saved them many times.
  • Cat Run - Can run very fast on all fours.
  • Teleportation - Odd could teleport certain distances in Triple Trouble, however the program had a bug which made copies of Odd. The copies would then devirtualize with the original Odd, and eventually become unstable. It was decided by Odd and Jeremie at the end of the episode that Odd's teleportation power was more trouble than it was worth, so they deleted it.
  • Vehicle - Overboard. Odd has a Nav Skid that can shoot torpedoes on the Virtual Ship

Aelita is a human-turned virtual being, and the daughter of Franz Hopper. She is the only girl in Lyoko as only one exists, one of the leaders of Team Lyoko (though we have not seen her take command in Jeremie's absence), and for the most part the target of XANA. Aelita is also one of the characters with an unnatural hair color, the other being one of her protectors, Odd Della Robbia. There is some romantic connection between herself and Jeremie, which has been explored several times over the course of the series.

Season 1

When first introduced in season 1, Aelita is believed to be a form of artificial intelligence trapped in the world of Lyoko. She and the rest of the Lyoko Warriors bond quickly and most of the season is spent trying to materialise her on Earth so that she can live as a human. Until then, she acts as guardian to Lyoko and is permanently linked to it, unable to devirtualise like her companions; so if she loses all of her life points or falls in to the digital sea, she will be lost forever.
Aelita is the only one who can stop X.A.N.A.'s attacks before they do any serious damage on Earth by deactivating his towers using the code: Lyoko. This requires her to survive through all of X.A.N.A.'s plots and his monsters, meaning most of the time she is fairly helpless on her own. The task is made more difficult since Aelita, at this point in the series, has yet to develop attacking powers of her own, and is only able to use her "Creativity" - a power allowing her to alter or create new parts to the terrain on Lyoko. However, when the going gets tough, she has the wit and cunning to be able to outwit X.A.N.A. and his monsters, a skill that has helped the others on many an occasion.

Whilst Jeremie, Odd, Yumi and Ulrich are busy on Earth Aelita spends her time patrolling Lyoko to check for any signs of danger and X.A.N.A.'s activity. She is able to control communications and get in touch with Jeremie if there are any problems. In the towers, Aelita can use the computer systems to access not only data in Lyoko but data on Earth as well, often admitting to doing research on human life in her spare time.

After weeks of hard work, finally, Jeremie found one way to materialize Aelita: the Code Earth. Aelita generally finds Earth life fascinating, although with a little trouble adjusting. With the great help of her friends, Aelita tries to start her brand new life: she lives at Yumi's home as a pen-friend from Japan, known as Aelita Lyoko, and she attends Kadic Academy, as Odd's cousin from Holland. Before materialization, X.A.N.A. found the way to implement something that looks like a virus inside Aelita. This virus permanently links her to the supercomputer, and it appears that there is no way to turn it off without killing Aelita at the same time, despite that being the group's main aim throughout the series.

Season 2

The second season of Code Lyoko is focused mainly on Aelita and her materialisation. After X.A.N.A.'s last attack that returned her to Lyoko for a while, Jérémie succeed to program a Super Scan so that she could return to Earth. Now Aelita is known as Aelita Stones at Kadic Academy, and is yet again Odd's cousin (from Canada this time) and is enrolled as a boarder. However, it appears that Aelita has some mind and memory problems: she feels like she had already lived here, on Earth, even if it's theoretically impossible. Plagued by hallucinations she aims to discover their sources and eventually the group is led to an abandoned house in the forest near the academy, called The Hermitage. Several times, these bizarre visions become nightmares, even causing problems for Aelita at school.
Aelita's visions became the key to the mystery of X.A.N.A. and the supercomputer as it was slowly revealed during the series that the owner of the Hermitage, a Franz Hopper, was the creator of X.A.N.A., as well as a professor at Kadic Academy a long time ago. They also discover a small doll, doll that Aelita recognised: "Mister Pück". This doll carried the key that linked the heroes to Franz Hopper's encrypted diary. During this time, X.A.N.A. changes strategy - using the activated towers, he attempts to lure Aelita to Lyoko to try and steal her memories via a Scyphozoa.
Most of the season is spent trying to free Aelita from the 'virus' implanted in her by X.A.N.A., which required the heroes to traverse through the Carthage territory, or the 5th sector, to gain access to X.A.N.A.'s own data. Although information is retrieved, no headway is made to help Aelita and it is discovered that rather than her having gained a virus, she was in fact missing a fragment of herself. This fragment was keeping her linked to the supercomputer. An attempt is made to retrieve it but she is eventually led into a trap where her memories are stolen and she is, effectively, killed. It is Franz Hopper that saves Aelita's life and restores all of her past memories, revealing to the world that she is of human origin.
Franz Hopper's diary is decoded and it is revealed that Aelita is the daughter of Franz Hopper, who at the time of the supercomputer's creation was being pursued by the 'Men in Black'. To escape, he virtualised himself and Aelita on Lyoko, where they were attacked by X.A.N.A. It is also stated that Aelita in fact holds the keys to Lyoko. Eventually, to save himself and his daughter's memories, Hopper is forced to turn the supercomputer off to contain X.A.N.A., effectively trapping themselves in the virtual world.

Relationship's

JeremiexAelita
At first, Aelita just contacted the team during attacks, but by Big Bug, Aelita talked to Jeremie on a daily basis about his life. Jeremie also constantly made hints that he really liked talking to her.

Odd

Her relation ship with Odd is mainly friendly, the two of them are close as in a brother-sister bond. The only time they kissed was when Herb and Nicholas were going to discover the factory, fooling them into thinking that they were a couple.

Lyoko FormEdit

  • ID Card: Aelita's card shows a pink, up-side-down Eye of XANA.
  • Health: 100 Life Points
  • Weapons:
    • Energy field- Aelita can send small deep pink electric spheres of pure energy. They are slower than Odd's arrows, but they don't need to hit XANA's eye on a monster to be effective. These energy spheres can also act as a narrow shield when she places them together. While as a specter on Earth they are a yellowish orange in color surrounded with a red aura and act very similar to bolts of electricity. They are ten times stronger and ten times more powerful than on Lyoko. For example one energy field can cause a huge destructive explosion that destroys half of Xana's monsters where as on Lyoko her energy fields can only destroy one monster at a time. They can become a temporary shield of yellowish-colored pure energy if the need arises.
  • Lyoko Powers:
    • Creativity - this power allows Aelita to modify the terrain of Lyoko or create invulnerable clones of herself. While energized as a polymorphic specter on Earth her creativity is much stronger, capable of cracking computer codes and opening sealed doors.
    • Second Sight - Aelita, due to her connection to Lyoko, can see things that XANA has made invisible. In the fourth season due to the digital enhancements given by Jeremy her "second sight" is greatly heightened and strengthened to higher levels. It now enables Aelita to sense Xana's emotions and feelings wherever he may be on Lyoko.
  • Vehicle: Aelita technically has no separate vehicle, but sometimes shares the vehicles with her fellow Lyoko warriors. The overbike with Ulrich, the overboard with Odd and the overwing with Yumi. In the digital sea she is the driver and the one who pilots the Skidbladnir.
  • Angel Wings - while not an actual vehicle, are what Aelita uses as a vehicle. She gained these wings in episode two of the fourth season "Double Take" along with her new outfit. She is also the pilot of the Skid. If Aelita is hit by a laser while in flight the angel wings will disappear. To activate them she has to simply wave her hand over the star-shaped bracelet on her right wrist. They enable her to fly through the air at incredible speeds similar to Ulrich's Super Sprint. They also allow her to carry one other person. For example, Yumi in "Double Take," and Odd in "Kadic Bombshell."

Trivia

  • Aelita uses a scooter while traveling to the Factory in the sewers. She also has a mobile phone for herself.
  • It seems all the things she owns have been bought for her by Jeremy, who she referes to as her "meal ticket".
  • Like XANA, Aelita has the power to strike out at the real world. In Ghost Channel, Aelita ordered the pipes in the Boiler Room to destruct, allowing Jeremy to elude Jim and Mr. Delmas. Unlike XANA, Aelita doesn't require a tower to create such attacks because she makes her own rules.
  • When Aelita was a child, she had a doll named Mister Pück.
  • Aelita is an excellent DJ, and knows how to play the piano, thanks to her father.
  • Aelita's DJ skills were shown once again when she was chosen by Chris of the subdigitals to be their opening act in Crash Course.
  • In the episode "New Order", Odd tells Jim that Aelita is from Canada. This is another mind trick, but Jim is so stupid that he actually believes it this time.
  • Aelita is the 1st person other than Yumi to use her Tessen Fans in Attack of the Zombies.
  • It is largely assumed that Jeremy created Aelita's angel wings not just to help her, but because Jeremy loved her.
  • The name Aelita means "Voice Of Protection".
  • In St. Valentines' Day, the necklace she got possesed her without the schyphozoa.
  • When posessed by X.A.N.A., Aelita is only ever defeated and devirtualised once; by Yumi, in The Secre.
